Lindsey’s Story

Lindsey is a budget analyst, community advocate, and mom. In 2016, her family was devastated when her husband Brent lost his job, and her 5-year old son Grayson was diagnosed with a serious neurological disease called PANDAS. Luckily the Medicaid plan Lindsey’s children were on, due to Brent’s unemployment, covered Grayson’s treatment. Since very few insurance plans would have covered the necessary treatments for Grayson, Medicaid saved her family.

Lindsey knew that Grayson’s treatment would be a continued fight with insurance companies who didn’t cover the treatment he needed. She joined forces with healthcare advocates who were lobbying the General Assembly to expand coverage and save lives. Lindsey fought for families like hers but found her efforts fail against the entrenched special interests in Richmond. In 2019, she decided to stand up for others and run to represent working families as the next Delegate in the 62nd District.

  1. Healthcare: Through her family's fights with insurance companies, Lindsey knows how Medicaid Expansion, affordable healthcare, and early-childhood prevention protect working families.

  2. Education: As a working mom, with a child in public school, Lindsey takes time to stay involved in her community. She knows that we need to invest in our students and teachers. As an administrator and advocate, Lindsey improved public access to museums and civic engagement programs in underserved communities.

  3. Government efficiency: As a local government budget analyst, Lindsey knows when a program is working and when it isn't. Lindsey will fight to save taxpayer dollars and will make sure funding comes back to our community to protect schools, roads, and green spaces.
